The Southwestern Watercolor Society of Dallas is having its 57th Annual Membership Juried Exhibition. The juror, Steve Rogers, selected my "Afternoon in Cambodia" as one of 82 featured in the show 2 Sept-3 October at the Blue House Too Gallery in Allen.

The Visual Arts League of Lewisville presents Adventures in Wonderland in the north hallway. I have two works: "Seven Cats" and "Sharing Secrets." The virtual version is posted here:
The Annual Merging Visions Exhibition is at the Goff Gallery in the Appleton-Patterson Center of Visual Arts in Denton during August and September. I have a painting which was done at one of my Ghost Ranch workshop/retreats: "All Creatures Great and Small." Merging Visions is a collaboration of the Denton Poet's Society and the Visual Arts Society of Texas. This fabulous annual show pairs the written word with the visual image and is one of my favorites. View it online:
The former Tierney's Tavern and Restaurant has new ownership with a new look and menu! Main Street Cafe shows work by members of the Visual Arts of Lewisville. I have 3 very large watercolor canvas prints (2' x 3') in the west dining room. The address is 208 E Main Street, open hours 6am-9pm.
My mural of Denton was selected by Wal-Mart for their public art project to install murals in their stores. A specially designed mural showing the "Vibe of Denton, Texas" was chosen for the Loop 288 Super Wal Mart location, where it is now installed. The design is posted under the Public Art tab. Of course, I haven't been able to see the real installation yet...
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX
I was selected by City of Grand Prairie Public Art Program to have two of my watercolor images transferred with vinyl wrap to traffic signal boxes. In 2019 my "Tangled Tulips" watercolor was installed at the intersection of Carrier Parkway at Hill St and in 2018 "Red Dragons" was selected for the intersection of Carrier Parkway and Arkansas Street. Fingers are crossed that the 2020 Keller Art Walk will occur 14 November in the Old Town West area. I have been chosen by the City of Keller
to be one of the plein aire artists available. I will be showing how to create pen and ink with watercolor on site.More details later.
2021: Let's Hope to Get Our Lives Back!!
"Alive Today", a mixed media collage done on ampesand board, is part of the 31st Visual Arts Society of Texas Membership Show, judged by Alison Prouix. It runs 5-30 October at thePatterson-Appleton Arts Center on Hickory Street.
My 2020 watercolor demo followed up with a workshop with the Pecan Plantation Art Guild of Granbury has been postponed until January 2021.
A 3-month showing was scheduled in the Box Gallery at Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas during Aug-Oct. Due to the pandemic, it will be rescheduled. Details will be posted later!
GHOST RANCH, ABIQUIU, NM in 2021
The annual workshop/retreat using mixed medias, with something different each day is scheduled for 13-19 June 2021. The UN-traditional Watercolor workshop/retreat is set for 26 Sept-2 Oct. Registration forms are available on the Ghost Ranch tab above.

The adventure cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic is back on and scheduled for May 2022. Check on the Adventures Abroad tab (from the 2020 plans). A new year begins....

Two of my works were chosen to be included in the ARTfolio 2020 publications by Douglas King. The 9.5 x 12 jacketed hardcover book is available for $60. In March I was invited to judge the Pecan Plantation Art Guid Spring Show at the Dora E Langdon Center, Gordon House, in Granbury, TX.
My "Over the Line", a 20" x 20" acrylic piece on canvas won 1st place, March Art of the Month at the Visual Arts League of Lewisville.
At the Lake Granbury Art Association Fall Show I had two pieces accepted: a weaving and a watercolor. The painting, "Night Blooms of Nairobi, Kenya" was awarded First Place by juror Justin Burns.
The Visual Arts Society of Texas in Denton voted "Turquoise Tipped Agave", a watercolor with ink accents as second place for the January Art of the Month.
I have provided demo painting/ workshops for several North Texas art associations: Lewisville, Fort Worth, McKinney, Gainesville, Decatur, Sherman, Paris, Mid-Cities, Johnson County in Cleburn, Grand Prairie and Weatherford. Further away, I've taught workshops at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu and Santa Fe, NM; Branson, MO; Sedona, AZ and Topeka, KS.
...And then there are the Annual Art Adventures Abroad where I have taken artists to Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Denmark, Germany and France. Italy was cancelled but will be rescheduled.
