FORT WORTH, TX
The Botanical Art Collective of North Central Texas is presenting their 2nd Annual Art in Bloom Exhibition at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas Building, 1700 University. The Gallery will hold 32 works from 10 May-20 June. The reception is Friday, 10 May from 5:30-7:30. My "Tangled Hibiscus" is included! Take a look at this you tube video of the show:
The Trinity Art Guild selected 2 of my works, "Night Blooms of Nairobi, Kenya" and "Doodle Doo" to be included in their 2019 Open Show running 11 May-22 June.
7 June-14 Sept the Annual Merging Visions Exhibition will be availble for viewing at the Meadows Gallery in the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center in Denton. This is a collaboration of the Visual Arts Society of Texas with the Denton Poet's Society.
At the MCL Grand on old Main St the Visual Arts of Lewisville is showing their Small Works Show. Come see (and buy) something for that small place that needs filling at your place! The show runs 8 June-13 July.
The Texas Visual Arts Association has a gallery in the Plaza of the Americas at 600 N. Pearl St downtown. Come by and see my "Shaded Hostas" during their Membership Show 1-26 June.

A new year begins....
"The Message", a mixed media with oil, cold wax and pastel won the Abstract Award of Merit in the 2019 National Small Works Show in Mena, ARK. This, along with another piece accepted, and an award last year has earned my Signature Status with SouthWest Artists, Inc
Two of my paintings, "Night Blooms, Nairobi, Kenya" and "Beneath the Banyan" have been accepted by our curator to be published in the inaugural edition of the Contempo Annual book, Vol. 1.
The Visual Arts Society of Texas in Denton voted "Spirit of Chichen Itza, Mexico", a watercolor, as first place for March Art of the Month.
At the February meeting of Society of Watercolor Artists in Fort Worth my "Spirit of Chichen Itza, Mexico" won 2nd place for Art of the Month.
In Lewisville the MCL Grand Hosted "American the Beautiful" Juried Exhibition in January. One of my 3 pieces accepted, "Ghosts in the Snow, Ghost Ranch," a photograph, won Honorable Mention. (I awlays wanted to see the Ranch in the wintertime and it did not disappoint with snow flurries after I arrived on the property.
During the month of March the north hallway at the Lewisville MCL Grand hosted the winning monthly art pieces from 2018. My photograph, "Morning Ride, Magilligan Point, Northern Ireland" was included.
I love to share! I have done demo painting/ workshops for several North Texas art associations: Lewisville, Fort Worth, McKinney, Gainesville, Decatur, Sherman, Paris, Mid-Cities, Johnson County in Cleburn, Grand Prairie and Weatherford. Further away, I've had workshops at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu and Santa Fe, NM; Branson, MO; Sedona, AZ and Topeka, KS.
