FRISCO, TX:

The City of Frisco has chosen my watercolor image of "1925 Packard" to appear on one of the banners in the Rail District 29 Sept-April. There are 20 artists included from a field of 200!

The Lewisville Community theatre is hosting "Native Gardens" 14-28 April on Main Street. My "Peonies in Pink, Lintao, China" watercolor will be up for sale during the weekend performances of the stage play.

RICHARDSON, TX

1-27 May at the Charles W Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, TX my watercolor, "Going Home, Chau Doc Harbor, Vietnam" is included in the Richardson Civic Art Society 58th Annual Regional Show and Sale.

LEWISVILLE, TX:

The Lewisville Grand is hosting a solo show of my works from 18 May-13 July in the front hallway with the administration office and the art gallery.

DENTON, TX:

May 2-end of July my artwork will be shown in the lobby and hallways of the Texas Oncology Building, 2600 Scripture Street.

Some of my 2024 news!

In January I gave an art demo for the Paris Art Study Club, Paris, TX--how to journal with art as your travel.

In February I was the demo artist at the Visual Arts Society of Texas in Denton--using watercolor and ink.

Also in February I provided a demo at the Visual Arts of Lewisville monthly meeting using Ampersand panels and sculpting on the surface. The final piece was painted with watercolor.

At the Visual Arts Society of Texas 175-mile Juried Exhibition my weaving, "Feather Dance, Ghost Ranch" won 2nd place. Another piece, "Green with Envy", watercolor, was also included. Jim Humphries, juror.

My "Pink Hollyhocks" won 1st place in the Visual Arts Society of Texas Art of the Month.

In March I won Honorable Mention at the Richardson Civic Art Society's  Spring Show at ArtReach Gallery, Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Rd, Dallas. I have 3 works included. My "Camelia, Giverny Garden, France" won Honorable Mention in watermedia. 

MY NEW BOOK:

I have written and published a 28-page book, "Making an Art Journal...as You Travel. How-to Ideas with Darla Bostick". Those who accompany me on my Annual Art Adventures Abroad receive one as a gift.

DENTON, TX

My mural of Denton was selected by Wal-Mart for their public art project to install murals in their stores.  "Vibe of Denton, Texas" was chosen for the Loop 288 Super Wal Mart location, where it is now installed. The design is posted under the Public Art tab. 

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX

City of Grand Prairie Public Art Program has three of my watercolor images transferred with vinyl wrap to traffic signal boxes. In 2019 my "Tangled Tulips" watercolor was installed at the intersection of Carrier Parkway at Hill St, in 2018 "Red Dragons" was selected for the intersection of Carrier Parkway and Arkansas Street and in 2022 "Hearts Abound" was installed at Westchester and S Carrier Pkwy. 

DENTON, TX

The installation of "The Trinity",  a public art sculpture outside the Patterson-Appleton Art Center in Denton at Hickory and Bell Ave at the main entrance is complete. A collaboration of many artists, it consists of turned wood, lettering, poetry, collage, fused and stained glass.
